Mi viaje a Irlanda
¿Recordáis que iría a Irlanda a mejorar mi inglés?
My trip to Ireland started on July 25th and I needed to be at the airport at 8:30 a.m. so I would be able to check my luggage and get on the plane on time. Once on the plane, the trip took 3 hours, I was sited next to new friends I met in the waiting room so the time ran faster for me. When we arrive at Dublin’s airport we took our suitcases and get into the buses way to Tramore.
I arrived at Mary Ling’s (who have 2 beautiful daughters, Alba and Lisa) house. I stayed there for a week and meanwhile at school I started choosing my topic for the level 10 Trinity exam. Passed the week in Mary’s house I moved to the Conways house and stayed there for the rest of the month. The final objective of the trip was improving our English level and preparing a Trinity English exam so, for the whole month, we attended classes to get ready for the different parts of the task.
The timetable was distributed in 2 section, classes and activities. The first 2 weeks, the senior group (older than 15 years) had activities in the morning and classes in the afternoon, the third and fourth week the time table get inverted so we had classes in the morning and activities in the afternoon. This, IMHO, was much better.
Many people may think to attend class all July is losing time but as I have said it wasn’t just it, we took part in many activities usually related to sports. Training our selves in speaking fluently in English with natives just like in the houses we were staying at. On Saturdays, we had trips to famous or interest places like Cork or Kilkenny to get to see and learn more about the culture of the country.
The month I stayed there wasn’t only the best way of getting used to the language, it was also a great experience and opportunity to meet awesome and interesting people.
